Ashley Greene arrives to the VMA Preshow Rehearsal

In many ways, the 2009 Video Music Awards Preshow (which kicks off live at 8 p.m. this Sunday night) will be just as star-studded as the big show itself. MTV News correspondents Sway, Tim Kash, Jim Cantiello and Kim Stolz will be on the scene tracking the arrivals, greeting the stars and even giving away a Moonman or two. The show will also feature a special appearance by Justin Bieber (who will give a shout out to his biggest fan) and will feature ongoing Twitter analysis care of iJustine. The show will also represent the first MTV News gig for "Twilight" star Ashley Greene, who will serve at the fashion correspondent throughout the preshow. She'll continue the tradition begun by Taylor Swift at last year's VMAs, which will involve taking to the stars about what they're wearing and providing analysis about the fashion making its way down the red carpet.

Of course, even as show as madcap as the VMAs needs a little rehearsal, which is why Greene made her way to MTV headquarters in Times Square earlier today to sit down with the production crew and do a read-through of Sunday night's preshow. She told the room that she was excited and that Swift had called her to give her some advice about the position. She also said that she had traveled to New York with "New Moon" co-stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, and that they had offered her a great deal of encouragement.

Ashley Greene is ready to go, as is the rest of the MTV Video Music Awards crew. Want to see what Greene has to say about VMA fashion? Tune in Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET to get the full scoop.
