Kristen Stewart goes from Twilight to the Marines

According to Radar Online, If James Woods has his way, Kristen Stewart's next movie will be An American Girl with the Twilight star in the lead role as a Marine. Woods told that when he bought the script for An American Girl last year he immediately thought of Stewart and this was before Twilight made her a superstar. She's told him she definitely wants to do it, said Woods who will produce and costar in the flick.

The role will have Stewart playing a small town girl who joins the Marines just to escape a sex tape scandal at home. She unexpectedly excels in the military but is also injured in the line of duty and returns home a changed woman.

It is a "slam dunk Oscar for her," Woods said.

An American Girl won't be Stewart's first break from Twilight's Bella Swan.

In between shooting New Moon and Eclipse (which is currently in production), she squeezed in the Joan Jett biopic, The Runaways.

Twilight: Bad Influence on Love?

This is a good article done by is Twilight really a bad influence on love? You be the judge.

Throughout Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga we discover a love story wrapped tightly between three souls grasping for freedom and we quickly become enthralled by the storytelling. As fans, we have interwoven our lives, our hopes, and our dreams inside the pages of this remarkable and passionate tale of love. We envision Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner somewhere in Forks, Washington living the details of this book verbatim.

Never has a story made us feel love, and even more remarkable, never have we empathized with characters that are struggling. In The Twilight Saga: New Moon, our hearts truly break for Bella when Edward leaves her, our soul aches for Jacob as he fights for his love, and uncontrollable tears flow when Edward and Bella reunite in Italy. But at the end of the day, have all these grandiose moments of Twilight left us with a skewed and unrealistic view of love?

Love is a magical feeling that makes you feel alive and untouchable as seen throughout The Twilight Saga. Bella who is unconditionally in love with Edward is left inconsolable when he disappears into the shadows of the night. For months, Bella mopes around her house, sulks at school, and transfers her feelings of abandonment onto her friend Jacob. More dangerously, Bella retreats into an adrenaline junkie, to ease the pain of her heartache and to feel close to her lost love.

As the fearless Bella thrives on the adrenaline her rationale flies out the window. In New Moon, Bella says, "I saw no reason for fear. I couldn’t imagine anything in the world that there was left to be afraid of, not physically at least. One of the few advantages of losing everything" (Meyer, p110). Her reckless behavior ends up hurting her, her friendship with Jacob, and quite possibly the actions of the fans. While Twilight rules the best sellers lists and everyone from Tweens to Grandmothers are hooked on the saga, does it at all send out the wrong message of love?

It is very easy to fall into the pages of Twilight and never want to leave, to want to spend an eternity with Bella, Jacob, Edward, and the rest of the characters. But the message of love that seeps out of Twilight and into the minds of people worldwide is a bit distorted. It is undeniable that Bella and Edward have something magical, but in reality, in the real world, does that magic exist? Are we leading on the youth by glorifying the behaviors of Bella and Edward?

Bella goes about dealing with the breakup the worst possible way; in reality, the young, confused girl should have sought professional help for her unrestrainable feeling of heartache. But in the book, Bella does the opposite, she buries her feelings deep down. Is that the message we want to send out? Is it okay to become depressed, use your friends, and become something you are not in order to hold onto a lost relationship?

Robert Pattinson: "Most People Have a Secret in Their Relationship"

Robert Pattinson says there’s something “dark” about Twilight sequel New Moon — because it explores the secrets people have in relationships.

Pattinson insists the second film in the vampire franchise is “much more masculine” than the first.

“It is a love story, but there is something that gives a darkness to it,” Pattinson said of the film, which hits theaters NEXT MONTH! “I think most people like to have a secret in their relationship with their girl or boyfriend.

“It keeps things exciting. And, honestly, while it’s not an action film, this one is much more masculine. I didn’t feel as though I was doing a girly film and I could relate to this one way more.

“The second was always my favorite book and there is a lot of fighting in that. Also, in this one, what Edward goes through is a lot more relatable for guys, whereas in Twilight, it was quite difficult for me to express it.

“Anyone who has had a relationship break-up will understand if I have done it right.”

St. Vincent Talks About New Moon Soundtrack

The New Moon Soundtrack tracklisting has turned heads with its eclectic mix of featuring artists. Even Pitchfork expressed their surprise and called it “the most Pitchfork-friendly teenage vampire romance soundtrack album of all time!”

Pitchfork recently interviewed Annie Clark of St. Vincent to ask her about their contributing track with Bon Iver, ‘Rosyln.’

Pitchfork: How do you feel knowing that this is going to be in this gigantic teenage vampire movie?

Annie: Well, to be entirely honest, I hadn’t thought about the impact of that. My main thought was that I really wanted to do something with Justin [Vernon] because he’s so great. Then, once it was announced, I started getting floods of calls and emails from family and extended family, who were thrilled. Apparently, every woman in my family, unlike me, has read the entire series, so they’re really just beside themselves about it. I have a sister who’s nine who called me screaming, and I have a sister who’s 39, and she called me screaming. Only then did I realize the impact of it.

Tim Gunn calls Robert Pattinson " A Little Sloppy"

Celebuzz caught up with the Project Runway mentor at the Marshalls "Shop Till It Stops" anti-domestic violence event in Santa Monica, CA on Thursday and asked him the question that's on everybody's mind: What does he think about Twilight heartthrob Pattinson landing a spot on People magazine's best-dressed list?

His response: "Robert Pattinson...It's a look. It's a style. I mean, he could...he could be stunning, but I think it's a little sloppy for my taste."

So who does deserve best dressed according to Gunn, "I love George Clooney's look. I think Justin Timberlake always looks great."

So what do you think? Is he right? Is Rob Pattinson sloppy? I think not!

The Vampire Diaries Call Out Twilight!

If you watched the "Vampire Diaries" last night you might have heard Damon Salvatore call out Twilight. Accused of being a rip-off of the Twilight Saga, even though the book series came out before the Stephanie Meyer's novels, The CW hit winked at the controversy this week.

During an exchange with another character, Damon Salvatore - played by Ian Somerhalder - puts down the book he's been reading (which I'm assuming is New Moon since the other character says you have to read the first book to understand the second) and says:

What's so special about this Bella girl? Edward's so whipped!

I was wide eyed and laughing just watching how he described the book. Damon then says the book "has it all wrong," regarding how humans are turned into vampires. It was a funny, unexpected moment. The other character also asked "Why don't you sparkle" and he replies "because this is reality" or something along those lines. If I find the video I will attach it later.

Twilight Saga: New Moon Exclusive in Empire Magazine

In the November issue of Empire, out now, you not only get two spiffing New Moon posters but you also get the lowdown on the second instalment in the Twilight series. And Empire got Chris Weitz and Taylor Lautner to explain why this one's harder-edged and more man-friendly.

"You've got the werewolves coming in," said Weitz, "and the effects are going to be great on that part of the movie. Also, there's more fighting and that should appeal to the boys. There is also a male character, Jacob, who is inherently a more viable character for most boys because he's like an ordinary guy. He works on cars, whereas Edward is a perfect man, and maybe he only appeals to perfect men. That makes the demographic rather small! So there's more of a way into this one - we do hope to up the male demographic!"

Lautner, who's put on a huge amount of muscle to bulk up for the role, said of his role, "In Twlight, Jacob is this happy-go-lucky kid, but in New Moon when he shapeshifts into his wolf self, he becomes a totally different person. It was almost a split personality in the same movie and sometimes even in the same day."

Kristen Stewart and Joan Jett caught on set along with others by EW: On Set Cover Story

In the current issue of Entertainment Weekly, the mag went on the set of 36 movie and television shows to snap behind-the-scenes pics and dish with Hollywood's finest including Joan Jett on location of Kristen Stewart's "The Runaways" (KStew is pictured with director Floria Sigismondi below in a photo from the EW issue, which is out this week).

If you've been keeping up with "Runaways" gossip, you know Joan Jett was a constant fixture on the set—it is her biopic after all! But watching Kristen and her fellow "New Moon" costar Dakota Fanning channel her and her '70s girl group was an unusual experience for the music legend. "It's really hard to put exact words on it beyond saying it’s surreal,” Joan explained.

To help Kristen with her portrayal, Joan gave her tapes of herself talking and singing at the age of 14, which Kristen spent weeks listening to.

“I’m sure it was a strange pressure [on Kristen],” Joan said of her constant presence on set. “She was kind of intimidated by it, but by the same token she wanted me there.”

Kristen Stewart in Interview Magazine: Is taking Bella to the next level

Here are some photos of Kristen in Interview Magazine looking awesome and a bit from the interview:

HOPPER: [both laugh] You know, you’re giving really wonderful performances. Since you didn’t know you’d be making sequels when you were making the first Twilight, has it been difficult for you to get back into character for these new ones?

STEWART: I’ve actually always been interested in following a character more long term, but the only place to really do that as an actor is on a TV series. But the Twilight series is cool because you know what’s ahead of you—all of the books have been written. And I get breaks in between. It’s sort of a depressing thing to lose a character just when you’ve been able to get to know her. Usually, at the end of a film it’s like I’ve finally gotten to know this person completely, and then we’re done. That actually happened on the set of Twilight, and then it happened again on New Moon. Each time my character Bella became a different person, and I got to know that person and take her to the next level.

Robert Pattinson and Overnight Sex Symbol?

MTV mentions actors such as James Dean and Brad Pitt who have had breakout careers and have transformed into major movie stars from one major role. Does Rob have what it takes? Will he launch a decades-long career? Here is a bit from the article:

Every now and then, a movie comes out that transforms a male actor into someone to be desired, adored and often watched for decades to come. We're experiencing such a phenomenon now with Robert Pattinson, who has essentially starred in one wide-release movie and had 'Twilight' transform him from "Who's that?" to "Hottest Man Alive" overnight.

James Dean
Arguably the greatest male cinematic sex symbol of all time, actors like Pattinson and James Franco continue to owe a huge debt to lived-fast, died-young legend. When 1955's "Rebel without a Cause" hit theaters, it made Dean an overnight sensation that was like RPattz's "Twilight" success times 10. Decades later, Hollywood continues to wonder what sort of career Dean would have built had he lived past age 24; the ultimate cautionary tale for young Hollywood sensations, Dean will always be a reminder of the dark side of sudden fame.

Twilight Coverboys: Who's hotter, Taylor or Robert?

In one corner, we have sensitive looking Lautner on the cover of Teen Vogue, more or less begging to be kissed goodnight by thousands of heartsick little girls. In the other, Pattinson gracing the cover of AnOtherMan, giving his best drunkface. Seriously, homeslice, take a multivitamin. You be the judge! Go! Who is hotter? Vote on the poll

5 Reasons to love Peter Facinelli

Mr. Twitter. Without Peter we would have no idea werewolves and vampires were brawling in the middle of the woods in Canada. Since Peter joined Twitter, he has been giving fans a rare inside look into the world of an actor. When he is not updating fans with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse news he is taking pictures with The Hulk, and getting his other fellow cast mates to tweet.

Great Father. Peter is a dedicated father who coaches soccer practice, goes along on school camping trips, and makes sure to spend quality time with his family whenever he is home. This devoted dad attends events with his family, flies them to set, and lights up whenever he talks about his children. Peter is a great role model out there to fathers that are looking to perfectly balance their career and home life.

Fan-tastic Dedication. Peter is the rare exception for many reasons, but there is one thing that sets Peter apart from the hundred other Hollywood actors. The way Peter treats his fans is incredible; he treats them as if for that moment they are the most important person in the world. He tweets with them, he stays longer to sign autographs, and he takes time to meet and connect with his fans.

Good Looking. Okay, we have to be vein just this once! In the midst of the Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner hotness drama, Peter stands firm ground. Being the eldest out of the three, Peter still gives the passer-byers whiplash with his dapper good looks and worldly charm. We won't go there but the characters in American Pie had a word for someone like this.

Carlisle Cullen. Let's face it, without Carlisle there would be no Edward and without Edward there would be no reason to breathe. Father of the Year candidate, Peter Facinelli not only tends to his family at home in Los Angeles, he also takes on the role of leader on screen and is the care taker of the vampires in Forks, Washington. We love Carlisle because he is understanding, compassionate, and sincere, which is really no different than Peter if you think about it.
